Adoption of War Graves – Uden

13-04-2026

From today, it is possible to adopt a grave at the Uden War Cemetery. Once a grave has been adopted, the adopter will receive a digital certificate confirming the adoption. Interested parties can use the "Contact" section to inform the committee of their wish to adopt a grave and specify which grave they would like to adopt.

Through the adoption of graves, the committee hopes to involve more people with the war cemetery. While some graves are still visited by relatives, many are not, either because there are no surviving relatives or because they are unable to travel to Uden. We do not want the servicemen who fought for our freedom to be forgotten. Therefore, we offer the opportunity to adopt these graves.

All adoptions are carried out in accordance with the adoption regulations of the Commonwealth war graves commission.

Adoption rules:

  • The adoption of a CWGC grave is non-exclusive. This means that a grave may be adopted by multiple individuals or organisations.
  • No form of payment or compensation may be requested for the adoption of a grave.
  • Only fresh flowers and wreaths with poppies may be placed at a grave. These will be removed once they have withered or after three weeks have passed since placement.
  • Any other items left at the grave will be removed after two to three weeks and retained for possible return to the owner.
  • It is strictly prohibited to add to or remove any planting at the grave.
  • The care and maintenance of the grave, the headstone, and the planting remain the responsibility of the CWGC.

Rabo ClubSupport-Rabobank Campaign and Packaging Campaign

21-10-2025

Thanks to the Rab0 ClubSupport-Rabobank Campaign, the board was able to receive a contribution towards the costs of purchasing the candles that are lit at each grave on Christmas Eve.

In recent weeks, the packaging campaign at Jumbo supermarket has also raised a generous donation for the war cemetery.

We sincerely thank everyone who has donated to the Uden War Cemetery through one of these campaigns.
